Background
The Concours began in 1950 as a last-minute social add-on to the Pebble Beach Road Races. Forest racing ended after 1956; Laguna Seca took the competition inland, while the lawn became the collector world’s Sunday. The Tour d’Elegance, started in 1998, still asks entrants to prove they drive — about 80 percent now run the roughly 70-mile coastal loop, and Tour finishers get the nod in class ties.

Planning tips
- Buy from the official tickets page. Hospitality tiers (Club d’Elegance, Pavilion, Patron’s Patio, Chairman’s Hospitality) are different products from general admission — match the package to whether you want shade and meals or just field time.
- Thursday, August 13 is the free public preview most travelers underuse: the Tour d’Elegance leaves Pebble Beach, runs 17-Mile Drive and Highway 1 toward Big Sur, and returns to a finish at Pebble. Official materials invite roadside viewing without a fee.
- If you only have Sunday, arrive for early light and fog on the fairway; awards and Best of Show land late. Pair a Reunion paddock day earlier in the week if you want cars at speed.
- 2026 also lists a Lamborghini Miura 60th Anniversary display on Concours Sunday and Lexus / Mercedes drive experiences on the third fairway August 13–15 — interesting, not substitutes for the judged field.
