Issue : Hyundai Auto Canada is conducting an extended warranty campaign for certain vehicles as water could enter the horn assembly and cause the horn's electrical contacts to corrode. As a result, the horn may not work properly or at all. Safety risk: A horn that doesn't work properly could prevent a driver from warning others of a danger and create an unsafe situation. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Hyundai advises you to test the horn regularly. Hyundai will notify owners in writing and advise you to contact a dealership if your horn doesn't work properly. Hyundai will provide an extended warranty of 10 years/200 000 km to replace the horn for free if it fails.

Lights And Instruments

Car · Compliance Mfr · 2,736 units

Feb 19, 2025

Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the instrument panel cluster display(s) not to display properly, or at all when the vehicle is started. As a result, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, including the speedometer, fuel gauge, warning lights and malfunction tell-tales. Note: For the GV70 model, this recall affects both the GV70 and Electrified GV70 (EV) models. Safety Risk: Warnings, tell-tales and gauges that don't display could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Genesis will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the instrument panel cluster display software.

2024-552 · Mfr R0260

Label

Light Truck & Van · Inconsequential · 824,695 units

Sep 23, 2024

Issue: On certain vehicles, the compliance label may be missing information in French. The words listed on the label for "Tires", "Rims", "Front" and "Rear" appear in English only, when they should be listed as "Tires/Pneus", "Rims/Jantes", "Front/Avant" and "Rear/Arriere". Canadian regulations require this information to be listed on the label in both English and French. Safety Risk: These small errors do not affect vehicle safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. The company has corrected the compliance label for all new vehicles.

2024-235 · Mfr R0244 (31D108)

Fuel System

SUV · Safety Mfr · 4,570 units

Apr 19, 2024

Issue: On certain vehicles, the low-pressure fuel pump could fail when the outside temperature is high. If this happens, the engine may run rough or may not start. This could also result in a sudden loss of engine power while driving. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2023-505. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Hyundai will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the fuel pump.

Seats And Restraints

Car · Safety Mfr · 6,900 units

Feb 17, 2023

Issue: On certain vehicles, there may be a problem with the front seat belt pretensioners. As a result, the driver and/or passenger seat belt pretensioners could explode in a crash. If this happens, small pieces of metal could hit people in the vehicle. Note: This recall replaces recall R0200 (Transport Canada Recall No. 2021-627). Vehicles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety Risk: A seat belt pretensioner that explodes could create a risk of injury. Corrective Action: Genesis will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to install protective caps over the driver and front passenger's seat belt pretensioners, as necessary.
